Blessing of the Fleet & Seafood Festival
Anchor Heating and Air is proud to sponsor the annual Blessing of the Fleet & Seafood Festival. This event was first started by the Magwood family in 1988, and it includes a boat parade as well as a ceremonial blessing of the local shrimp and fishing fleet. It also includes:
- Seafood samples from some of the best local restaurants.
- Live music and other live entertainment.
- A craft show.
- Shrimp-eating contests.
The Blessing of the Fleet & Seafood Festival takes place at 99 Harry M. Hallman Jr Blvd., and it’s free to attend. Many of the activities offered at the event are free, too. It benefits local nonprofit organizations like the Carolina Children’s Charity and is always one of the most anticipated events of the year in Charleston, SC.
Wine Under the Oaks
Wine Under the Oaks is another event that Anchor Heating and Air sponsors each year as part of our community involvement initiative. Held at Boone Hall Plantation & Gardens, which is one of the oldest working plantations in the U.S., it’s so much more than just your typical wine-tasting event.
Wine Under the Oaks happens in early December on the Boone Hall Plantation Back Lawn. It features:
- A complimentary Wine Under The Oaks glass.
- Wine samples from an assortment of local wineries and wine distributors.
- Complimentary oysters, desserts, and other delectable food options.
- A limited number of VIP tables.
- Live musical entertainment.
- Gourmet food and boutique wine available for purchase.
Tickets for this 21+ event sell out almost every year. Come see what makes Wine Under the Oaks one of the hottest tickets in town at Christmastime every year.
South Porch Spring Super Salon
The art scene in Charleston, SC, has exploded in recent years, and the South Porch Artists Residency aims to keep this momentum going by providing local artists with a warm and welcoming retreat space. The nonprofit residency program got its start in September 2022 and operates out of a historic home that caters to artists, writers, composers, and more.
To help fund its efforts, the organization holds an annual South Porch Spring Super Salon event on its grounds at 516 Central Avenue in nearby Summerville, SC. Some of the highlights of the event are:
- Opportunities to meet artists who are currently a part of the South Porch Artists Residency.
- Tours of the studio spaces inside the historic house the South Porch Artists Residency uses.
- Live music and other live entertainment.
Whether you’re an aspiring artist or someone who simply appreciates art, you’ll have the time of your life at the South Porch Spring Super Salon. It’s a celebration of the local art scene and a chance for the people of Charleston, SC to show support for it.
